More Natural Fabric for Baby to Enjoy

When it comes to clothing for little ones, I am a love for organic and natural fabric. There is something about the way that it feels, and just knowing that it doesn’t have anything that will harm your baby. When they are little and especially in those newborn years, babies have such sensitive skin.

Your first baby? One of the most beautiful gifts in nature is the velvety softness of your baby’s skin. Finding the safest, healthiest fabric to put next to the beautiful skin of that first baby (or later) is a growing priority among new parents today and organics make sense. Organic cotton makes sense for your baby and the environment.

Organic cotton baby clothes are a safe and reasonably priced alternative. Chemical and pesticide free, it offers parents one way to remove harmful pollutants from their baby’s environment, possibly reducing risk for allergy development in childhood.

How to Wash Smelly Cotton Socks

Filed under: Cotton Clothing — Tags: — admin @ 1:24 am

I bet you have come upon with this tricky household problem: smelly socks. Not only smelly, but also dirty inside out. What do you do with it ? Dip it into the detergent water for a long time and than wash it with gloves on your hands?

I suggest you put some disinfectant fluid into the water to kill the bacterial, and remember to keep it separate from other clothing, especially your underwear.

If you put them into the washing machine with other clothing together, than you are just risking your health with it, don’t turn a deaf ear to it, it may get you ill.

Smelly cotton socks is the last thing we housewives want to wash in the world, but still have to face it, I often prepare enough cotton socks for my man and wash several dirty pairs one time not everyday.

Any other good idea concerning how to wash cototn socks? Give me tips.

Life is Good with Organic Cotton

Filed under: Cotton Clothing, Cotton Crush — Tags: , — admin @ 10:17 pm

“Care what You Wear”  is an important campaign that “bans on the most toxic agricultural chemicals for made of what we wear”.

We consumer don’t want lies, we spend the money for pure cotton and it’s acturally not pure, we spent money for the more expensive organic cotton, who would be responsible for the potential problem about this kind of cotton fabric ?

Let’s see the official explanation of  Organic cotton, which  is cotton that is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides from plants which are not genetically modified.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is a far superior alternative to chemical-laden conventional cotton.

More and more farmers around the world are growing cotton without costly, harmful chemicals. Their yield is high and the quality of the cotton they grow is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton. Their methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water.

Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, at least for now, costs a bit more. But it is worth it since it doesn’t contain any hidden costs to our environment.

Cotton Laundering & Care

Even with shrinkage control, most cotton fabrics shrink druring the first wash, so it’s imperative to prewash them before sewing. When polyester is added to cotton, it doesn’t breathe well and tends to pill, so many consumers prefer the comfort of 100% cotton.

Most cotton fabrics can be laundered in the washing machine. They should be washed frequently, since they tend to absorb moisture and pick up dirt. Wash white itmes in hot water, medium colors in warm water and dard colors in cold water. Cotton will shrink more in hot water than cold, and fabric that’s loosely woven shrinks more than tighter weaves,

Items with embossed designs and inner construction such as lining and shoulder pads, should be dry-cleaned, Loose knits, lingerie and fabrics with special finishies might also benefit from dry-cleaning.

As your most intimate friend, cotton underwear industry are developing though years.  No longer viewed as just protective covering or a measure of personal hygiene, Cotton under pants have gone upscal and have to make a fashion statement as well.

Cotton panties are the favorite among many because they are light weight, comfortable and soft on your skin. It allows your body to breath and absorbing moisture, so you will be cooler. They are an excellent choice when you are working out or playing sports.

Other benefits of 100% cotton underwear are; easy to maintain, last a long time and are inexpensive.  The panties absorb moisture and allow the area to breath. This reduces vaginal infections. In fact, many doctors highly recommend women to wearing loose fitting cotton fabric. This is because other materials and the dyes in the panties can irritate and create a good environment for infection.

Choose The Right Cotton Pajamas to Help You Sleep

Most pajamas are made of pure cotton and some rich people prefer the silk pajamas, which I will talk about next time. I often wear the cotton pajamas and I find there is some tips for choosing sleepwear, not all of them feels so cosy.

Don’t choose the one with complicated purfle or decorated in the neck, remember, the simplest designed, the better. That’s why people like silk pajamas better, since silk feels like you don’t wear them at all.

Don’t choose the color too glare to the eye. That may disturb your sleep somewhat.

Make sure it’s pure cotton, you know, there is many fake cotton items in the market to fool you around, you’d better feel with your hands and see the tag.

No evidence proves that cosy cotton pajamas would promote sleep, but I believe so, it works for me. Remember to change them every night, don’t be lazy to wash them frequently since it’s your second intimate friend except the underwear.

Do you have the same trouble for the cotton pants. When it been worn sometime, then it seem to be without its original shape. They become so soft to only suitable for household wearing.

Is there something wrong about how you wash them ? Maybe. Do you wash them with many other clothes together in the washing machine, since cotton fabric can’t endure strech. Do you keep them in the hot sun for too long, since in the summer time, the sun is so fiece to hurt the cotton fabric, let it loose its color and flexibility.

You may have to take notice from now on, than your pants might have longer live.

1, Carefull wash and wash alone, no strech

Filed under: Cotton Clothing, Cotton Fabric, Pure Cotton — Tags: , , — admin @ 10:52 pm

Frequent wash may kind of distort our cotton T-shirt, that why we need to buy new ones when the next summer season comes. After several times wash, the cotton shirt would lose it’s vivid color, or becomes larger.

100% cotton T-shirt is not always better, if for home comfortable wearing, than purely cotton is better,  but if for outdoor wearing,  added in it some other elements, it may got other benefits that cotton don’t have, such as anti-crinkle, which is an important tips for buying pants, since you don’t want your pants to be easily crinkled.

Since cotton hardly endure hard frequent wash, so wash them gently, use hands wash, not machine wash if you are not so lazy to put everything into the wash machine.

Don’t put them in the hot sun for too long.

Chic Cotton Dress in Summer

Seaching in your wardrobe for one nice suumer dress, I find many of them made of cotton, silk dress and chiffon is more expensive than cotton dress, but cotton dress got its own benefits.

Cotton dress is relatively cheap compared to other meteria in most case, just relatively, since there maybe some kind of specially processed cotton meteria that with excellent qualtity to achieve a better price.

Cheap and chic cotton dress is everywhere, nature feeling to the body and it is not so fragile as silk or chiffon which require careful cleaning. You can just throw it into the washing machine.

Do you have your new cotton dress ready for summer 2009 ?
